Gui’an New Area

Gui’an New Area is the eighth national new area in China. Its establishment was approved on January 6, 2014. Located in the junction of Guiyang and Anshun cities, it covers a planned area of 1,795 square kilometres, and the planned population will reach 2.6 million by 2030. The three strategic positions, namely, an important economic growth pole in the western region, a new highland for inland open economy, and a demonstration zone for ecological civilization development will help in achieving its formation.
Gui’an New Area is located in the heart of the Central Guizhou Economic Zone. Depart from Guiyang City and travel to the southwest, the moment you drive off the Guiyang Expressway you will enter the jurisdiction of Gui’an. This new area is still freshly created so much so it has not been included on the map published in 2017.
Nowadays, four major industrial platforms have been set up here, including the digital economy industrial park featuring software and IT services, the innovation and creation park featuring university incubators, the integral bonded area for computers, communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing, and the high-end equipment manufacturing industrial park for electrical machinery and equipment, metal products and automobiles. In addition, China’s three major telecommunications carriers China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, as well as Internet giants such as Apple, Huawei, Tencent, and Alibaba, also have transferred their data centres into Gui’an New Area.
