The Sidu Chishui Memorial Hall, located in Tucheng Town, Xishui County, Guizhou Province, is a national patriotic education demonstration base, a national youth education base, a national defense education demonstration base, and a national 4A-level tourist attraction. The scenic area has been open to the public for free since 2009.

The Sidu Chishui Memorial Hall complex includes the main Sidu Chishui Memorial Hall, the Chinese Female Red Army Memorial Hall, the Red Army Hospital Memorial Hall, the Red Ninth Army Corps Exhibition Hall, the Chishui River Shipping History Exhibition Hall, the Chishui River Salt Culture Exhibition Hall, the Tucheng Ancient Town Museum, and several other halls. Additionally, it features the residences of Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai, Zhu De’s residence, the sites of the Red Army Headquarters, the General Staff Headquarters, the Red Third Army Corps Headquarters, the Red Army’s location in Tucheng Old Street, the Qinggangpo Battle Site, Female Red Army Street, the Tucheng Ferry Monument, and more than ten other national key cultural relic protection units, including Er’lang Beach and Lin Beach ferry crossings.

The Sidu Chishui Memorial Hall, with its name inscribed by Zhang Zhen, former Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission, is located at the former site of the Red Third Army Corps Headquarters, a two-story building combining Chinese and Western architectural styles. The exhibition hall covers an area of 620 square meters and is divided into two sections: military history exhibition and auxiliary exhibition.

The military history exhibition vividly recounts the glorious history of the Red Army under the leadership of Mao Zedong and others, crossing the Chishui River four times from January 1935 after the Zunyi Conference, until crossing the Jinsha River on May 9, achieving a great strategic victory. The auxiliary exhibition includes a special calligraphy and painting exhibition on the “Spirit of Sidu Chishui, Illuminating the Old Revolutionary Base Areas,” and the restoration of the living quarters of comrades Peng Dehuai and Yang Shangkun. The museum houses over 300 Red Army artifacts.
