On April 20, 1935, after crossing the Beipan River via Tiger Leaping Stone, the Red Ninth Army Corps traversed the Fage Pass and arrived at Shunchang Township by evening, camping in the areas of Dazhai, Dengjiazhai, and Jinzhulin. Zhu Yunxian and Wang Hongjun fell behind due to injuries and recuperated locally. After their recovery, Zhu Yunxian and Wang Hongjun made their way to Longchang Township’s Bowl Factory, leading the local populace to organize the Qixin Society, taking up arms for the revolution. In a battle against local reactionary forces, two Red Army soldiers were tragically martyred. However, the revolutionary spark they ignited continued to burn brightly in the Bowl Factory area, eventually leading to the formation of the Bowl Factory Guerrilla Squad. This group made significant contributions to the liberation of Shuicheng.

To better inherit the martyrs’ legacy, carry forward the Red gene, promote the spirit of the Long March, and enhance the sense of love for the Party and the country, Longchang Township, Shuicheng District, commenced the construction of the Red Culture Square in 2017. This project, centered around the “Bowl Factory Red Army Revolutionary Site” and the “Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army Crossing the Beipan River Memorial,” covers a total area of 10,130 square meters.

The Bowl Factory Red Culture Square in Longchang Township has gradually become another important site for Red culture education within Liupanshui City, serving as a significant venue for Party history study, education, and patriotic education. The “Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army Crossing the Beipan River Memorial” was designated as a “Guizhou Province Patriotic Education Base” in 2018, and the “Bowl Factory Red Army Revolutionary Site” was listed as a cultural relic protection unit of Liupanshui City in 2019.
