China Tea Sea, also known as the Meitan Tea Sea, is located in Meitan County, Guizhou Province. This is the world’s largest contiguous tea plantation, covering nearly 43,000 acres, and has been designated as the China Tea Sea Park.

The landscape here is characterized by undulating hills, and as you immerse yourself in the scenery, you are surrounded by lush greenery and fresh air filled with a rich aroma of tea that invigorates the senses. It feels like being in a green ocean, making it highly valuable for tourism development. The terrain within the park is mostly low hills, with tea trees planted along the contours of the hills, creating an endless stretch of green fields. It is a typical example of an ecological green industry.

In recent years, Meitan has followed the development strategy of integrating tea production with tourism and agriculture by transforming tea areas into scenic spots, tea gardens into parks, and tea mountains into gold mountains. This approach has fostered a coordinated development pattern of promoting tourism through tea and enhancing tea production through tourism. In 2023, Meitan County produced 72,100 tons of tea with a production value of 7.503 billion yuan, securing the top position in the “Top 100 Tea Counties in China” for four consecutive years.
