Jiuzhou Ancient Town is located southeast of Anshun City, 80 kilometers from the provincial capital Guiyang and 30 kilometers from downtown Anshun. It enjoys a superior geographical location, convenient transportation, and a pleasant climate. Jiuzhou Ancient Town has been recognized as a provincial historical and cultural town in Guizhou.

With a long history and developed culture, Jiuzhou Ancient Town was historically a hub for water and land transportation in Guizhou. Goods from within and outside the province were transferred here, attracting merchants and bustling with market activities. It served as an important ancient commercial town and a historical city in eastern Guizhou. The construction of these buildings is unique and exquisitely crafted, with notable examples such as the Confucian Temple and the Chenghuang Temple. In terms of the number of temples, pavilions, and guildhalls, Jiuzhou Ancient Town has a significant presence in the history of Guizhou.

The houses in Jiuzhou Ancient Town still retain the architectural characteristics of the Ming and Qing dynasties, exhibiting a quaint and magnificent style. The Jiangxi Linjiang Guildhall, also known as Shouren Palace, is located on the main street of Jiuzhou Ancient Town. It was first built in the 51st year of the Qing dynasty’s Qianlong reign and later rebuilt in the 14th year of the Guangxu reign. It has a width of 17.6 meters, depth of 51 meters, and covers an area of 897.6 square meters. The guildhall features a theater, a main hall, and a three-step corridor. Its exquisite carvings and exquisite craftsmanship make it one of the better-preserved ancient buildings in the present day.
