Maling River Canyon

Maling River Canyon, honored as the “most beautiful scar of the Earth”, is located in Xingyi, capital city of Qianxinan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou Province. The great chasm in the canyon is over 300-meter deep at its deepest point. Miraculous Karst caves can be viewed from multiple angles from 750 to 1,800-meter high. The fall is greater even than that of Huangguoshu Waterfall.

Huangguoshu Is More Than a Waterfall!

Huangguoshu Waterfall is the most renowned scenic area in Guizhou Province, as well as the highest waterfall in Asia. The fall is as much as 77.8 meters high, and the width, 101 meters. It’s one of the few waterfalls that can be viewed from multiple angles. The best season for a visit is between June and August.
A great attraction in Huangguoshu Scenic Spot is the cave hidden halfway down the cliff behind the waterfall. Leaving from the cave, tourist can take a sightseeing bus to Tianxing Bridge scenic zone, where many tour groups finish their trip. However, I’d like to recommend that you should keep going further where you will see many rocks rising along the road. And Tianxing Lake looks different from this angle. It is a paradise for photography, and most importantly, there are fewer visitors.

Doupotang Waterfall: The Widest Waterfall in the Huangguoshu

Waterfall Cluster Doupotang Waterfall, located at about 1 km upstream of Huangguoshu Waterfall, is 105-meter wide and 21-meter high. It is the widest waterfall in the Huangguoshu waterfall cluster. There is a special phenomenon in this waterfall: before the arrival of a flood, the waterfall will make “rumbling” sounds, and therefore it is nicknamed the “roaring waterfall”.
