Guizhou’s Caohai welcomes first migrant birds

The first of more than 1,400 black-necked cranes arrives at the Caohai National Nature Reserve to pass the winter in Weining county, Southwest China’s Guizhou province, on Nov 13-14.

In addition to black-necked cranes, more than 10,000 grey cranes and bar-headed gooses have also come to the Caohai National Nature Reserve to pass the winter.

The Caohai National Nature Reserve covers an area of 9,600 hectares and is one of China’s main wintering grounds for black-necked cranes.
