Jiabang Terraced Field

Jiabang Terraced Field, reputed as one of the most beautiful terraced fields in China, is located in the hinterland of the Moon Mountain in the west of Congjiang County in the southeast of Guizhou Province. It is built along the mountain, and its shape varies with the changes of the landform. In the terraced fields are strewn with some wooden stilt houses of the local Miao ethnicity. The Jiabang Terraced Field is a masterpiece of the local Miao people from generation to generation.

Golden Avenue

The “Golden Avenue” in Huaxi, Guizhou Province, was built in 1956, with a total length of 560 meters. As early as that time, 115 oriental plane trees were planted alongside the Huaxi River. In late autumn, when leaves of the oriental plane trees gradually turn yellow, the whole avenue looks like being covered with gold as you view it from distant mountains, hence the name. If you step on the leaf-clad road, you may hear the crunch of these fallen leaves. So welome to Huaxi to enjoy the picturesque  “Golden Avenue”. Don’t miss your date with the autumn.

Forest of Tens of Thousands of Peaks

There is a stone forest in Xingyi, Guizhou Province, called  Wanfenglin (Forest of Tens of Thousands of Peaks). Over the past aeons, water has carved its way along the peaks, creating more than 20,000 cone-shaped peaks, and thus forming this amazing karst landscape. Inside the stone forest, there is a large and beautiful piece of land called as the “Eight Diagrams Field”. In autumn, the golden rice fields weave the wonderful pattern of the Eight Diagrams, making the place an exquisite landscape painting.

Hongfeng Lake

The Hongfeng Lake, also known as the Red Maple Lake, is located in Qingzhen City in the west of Guiyang. It is a large artificial lake in Guizhou Province. More than one hundred islands and peninsulas of various sizes are scattering in the lake, forming the extraordinary landscape of “mountains beyond mountains, waters beyond waters, islands in the lake and lake in the islands”. Next to the lake is the Red Maple Ridge, with maple trees extensively growing on the hill and around the lake. In late autumn, when leaves of the maple trees turn red, they look like flames around the lake. That is why it is called “Red Maple Lake”.

Hanping Flower Sea

Sea of flowers in Northern Guizhou is one of the few flower seas that blossom all the year round. The Flower Sea covers an area of more than 1,500 mu (approx. 100 hectares), mainly growing azaleas, four-season sakura, lavender, sunflowers, and others. In the scenic area, there’s also a forest garden, a colorful grass skiing amusement park, and other recreational projects. You can not only enjoy the beauty of the Flower Sea at any time, but also feast your eyes on the pastoral landscape in Northern Guizhou on the way.

Leek Plateau

Here is the Jiucaiping, or the Leek Plateau, in Bijie of Guizhou Province. In August and September, wild leek flowers covering an area of 100,000 mu (approx. 6666 hectares) bloom on the plateau at an elevation above 2,000 meters, which is shrouded in clouds and mist all year long due to its high altitude. Therefore, this place, with the largest area of wild leek flowers in the world, is also known as the “flower sea above the clouds”. If you come to visit, please bring equipment that can protect yourself from the cold weather.

The Osmanthus Fragrans Terrace

The Osmanthus Fragrans Terrace is a 40-meter-high cliff terrace on the bank of the Bazhou River in Liping County, Guizhou. The Terrace is home to Osmanthus fragrans trees in different sizes and shapes. In autumn, when flowers are in full bloom with widespread fragrance, it is renowned as “a sweet-smelling Osmanthus Fragrans Terrace with the fragrance wafting far, far away”. Local villagers also pick Osmanthus fragrans to make pastries, honey, and other desserts, making the whole village immersed in the fragrance of Osmanthus fragrans.

Shexiang Museum

The Shexiang Museum, located in Dafang County, Guizhou, is a unique pseudo-classic building with the traditional architectural characteristics of the Yi ethnic minority. In late autumn, the Museum, in the most beautiful season, attracts a large number of visitors to enjoy the picturesque landscape of trees dressed in diverse colors and the refreshing autumn vibes through the long corridor on the water.
